Kindasa Water Services (KWS) desalination plant is located inside Jeddah Islamic Port (JIP). KWS has build & is presently operating & maintaining the following facilities inside & outside JIP:

14,000 m3/d sea water reverse osmosis (SWRO) desalination plant consisting of seven (7) trains each of 2,000 m3/d capacity.

Two (2) km. long 800 mm diameter GRP potable water transfer pipeline from the desalination plant to the filling station outside & adjacent to JIP gate # 9.with sixteen (16) water loading arms. for water distribution to various industries, housing compounds, etc.

Water filling station (inside JIP & adjacent to the existing desalination plant area) with six (6) water loading arms. For water distribution inside Jeddah Islamic Port (JIP) where network pipeline does not exists.

To fulfill the growing demand of potable water in Jeddah, KWS has undertaken the following projects which has already commissioned in September 2006.

Construction of new 25,500 m3/day SWRO desalination plant adjacent to the existing desalination plant consisting of three (3) trains each of 8,500 m3/d with infrastructure suitable to add fourth train of 8,500 m3/d in future.

Extension Construction of 10.2 km. long 800 mm diameter GRP potable water transfer pipeline from JIP Gate # 9 to Jeddah Industrial City (JIC) Phase 2.
